Emotion and collective dynamics

How do persistent emotions shape agent interactions over time?

Persistent emotion–memory coupling improves emotional continuity in the evaluated simulations; gains in believability depend on the model.

What we studied

A 25-agent social simulation couples continuous emotional state with memory; component ablations, human judgments, and network diagnostics examine its effects.

My contribution

Co-first author.

How to read the result

Emotional continuity and perceived believability are separate outcomes. Improvements in these simulations do not establish predictive validity for real societies.
